Brondlefern and Chuckles
Brondlefern and Chuckles are brother and sister.
Their curiosity, kindness and sense of adventure often lead them into the most wonderful discoveries in Scrumbly Valley.
Herbie
Herbie is Scrumbly Valley's master woodcarver and expert treehouse builder. With skilled hands, a creative mind, and a patient heart, he transforms wood into beautiful creations that inspire adventure, imagination, and play.
Miss Ali
Miss Ali teaches in the Scrumbly Valley school and fills it with laughter, curiosity, and wonder. Every lesson is an adventure, helping young Scrumblies to discover new skills, grow in confidence, and find the magic hidden in everyday life.
Miss Plumble
Miss Plumble is a kind person who loves growing pineapples and pumpkins. She can always be relied upon to bring some of them whenever the Scrumblies are having a party.
Grampleplod
Grampleplod is one of the oldest and wisest Scrumbies in the valley and like every other Scrumby he always tries to think of ways in which he can be kind to everyone else.
Tweezle
When Tweezle looks out from his treehouse he can see the river below and thanks to one of the presents he received for his birthday he can pull on a rope and collect a bucket of water without having to go down to fetch it.
Mrs Prangle
Miss Prangle likes baking all kinds of nice things to eat and she's always laughing in her bakery as she produces bread, buns and cakes. Her muffins and the honey from the bees she keeps are always popular when the Scrumblies have a campfire.
Three Adventures Await...
1. Tweezle's Birthday
As Tweezle's birthday approaches, the woodland friends come together to create thoughtful handmade presents — each one filled with kindness, creativity, and care.
As the Scrumblies explore their beautiful woodland home gathering ideas, they discover that the most meaningful gifts aren't bought — they're made with friendship, imagination, and a little woodland magic.
2. Who Can We Help?
Under the warm guidance of the elder schoolteacher Miss Ali, the close-knit community of Scrumblies gathers in the schoolroom for a monthly town meeting to ask the most important question of all: "Who can we help?"
What follows is a beautiful story of teamwork, sharing, and community as the Scrumblies gather building supplies, timber, and tools to help rebuild their neighbour's home.
3. Scrumbly Hobbies
All of the scrumblies reveal the different things they love to do in their spare time. From carving wood to fishing, painting, baking, gardening and games.
Filled with warmth, gentle humour, and beautifully illustrated woodland scenes, Scrumbly Hobbies encourages curiosity, creativity, kindness, and the joy of trying something new.
